Native Atlantan (and former Woodward alum) Megan Huntz has returned to Atlanta after six years in Italy. There, she worked designing denim and that eventually led to the launch of her own line of clothes, more specifically, dresses. The young designer has a free spirit about her that is evident in each piece she creates. Now with years of the Italian fashion industry under her belt, she is back in the states and plans to spend time introducing her designs to her home country.

The 5th Annual Jaden’s Ladder Fairway Affair of Atlanta kicked off with a celebrity cocktail party on Friday night. Special guests gathered at the Buckhead estate of real estate mogul Lee Najjar for a VIP cocktail reception and silent auction. Celebrities in attaendance over the weekend included Jermaine Dupree, Dallas Austin, Atlanta Falcons Coy Wire, Atlanta Braves Brian McCan, Steve Harvey and others

Piedmont Park is getting ready to debut its very own skating rink. Set to open on November 22, the ice skating rink, known as The Rink, will be situated at 500 10th Street under Park Tavern’s Garden Tent.

This Saturday night, it’s all about being FAB or at least going FAB at the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center’s (ACAC) Fall Auction Benefit (FAB). Proceeds from fabulous party and silent auction go to support ACAC’s exhibitions and programs. Yumbii: Far Out Food is the latest food trend in Atlanta and the first truck to serve gourmet food on the streets of our city. When I first heard about this new mobile restaurant, I was not surprised that Carson Young, an old friend from my high school days at Woodward Academy, was behind the madness.

In fact, this café and bakery is dedicated to saving homeless animals. The grand opening fundraiser benefitting New Leash On Life is Thursday, October 28th, and this will be the first of many animal nights to come at this spot with “people treats and animal love”. Sophie’s Uptown will open for the public on November 8.
