Originally designed by architect, Wallace Frost, and crafted of local stone quarried onsite in the 1920’s, the intriguing Montecito home which captured designer, John Saladino’s attention in 2001 was a romantic “half farmhouse, half villa” nestled on a gentle country road and hidden by a grove of mature trees. “Part of the immediate appeal of the house was its mix of grandeur and modesty.” Saladino bought the place out of pure emotion, knowing its restoration would be an enormous and costly undertaking. Transforming the property included, simultaneously, new construction, reconstruction and restoration, interior and landscape design.
Offered @ $24,500,000
