White Truffle Season Is Here: The 6 Michelin-Starred Italian Tables Worth the Trip
Alba's White Truffle Fair runs Oct. 10–Dec. 6, 2026. Book Piazza Duomo, Da Vittorio and more Michelin-starred truffle tables.
Some ingredients inspire a dinner reservation. White truffles inspire an entire itinerary. This fall, Alba’s 96th International White Truffle Fair runs every weekend from October 10 to December 6, 2026, and Piedmont’s Michelin-starred kitchens are ready: Enrico Crippa’s three-starred Piazza Duomo launched its eight-course Alba White Truffle menu on October 1, La Ciau del Tornavento serves truffle in every course down to dessert and Locanda del Pilone and Antica Corona Reale celebrate the season with their own menus, while Da Vittorio in Lombardy and Massimo Bottura’s Osteria Francescana in Modena make tempting reasons to keep traveling.
There’s something wonderfully excessive about crossing an ocean for an ingredient that needs little more than warm pasta, very good butter and a generous hand with the shaver. Then that fragrance reaches the table, and planning a holiday around dinner suddenly feels entirely reasonable.
Here are the six tables to build the trip around, with the prices and details worth confirming when you book.

Piazza Duomo
Alba, Piedmont | Three Michelin stars
If you’re going to build a trip around white truffles, Enrico Crippa is the place to begin. At his three-starred Piazza Duomo, overlooking Alba’s cathedral, the ingredient gets an eight-course autumn menu all its own, a chef’s complete interpretation of white truffle across an entire meal.
The Alba White Truffle menu runs from October 1 through December at €290 per person, with truffle charged separately by the gram at the daily market price; the wine pairing is €240. Give the supplement as much attention as the menu: the amount shaved and the day’s quotation decide the final indulgence.
Haute Living take: The definitive white truffle dinner. Start the pilgrimage here.
La Ciau del Tornavento
Treiso, Piedmont | One Michelin star
At La Ciau del Tornavento, the hardest decision is how many ways you want your truffle. The menu has included lobster with almonds and Gorgonzola, Castelmagno risotto and an egg cocotte served in a wooden box, plus the 28-egg-yolk tagliolini, the most persuasive argument imaginable for letting pasta, butter and truffle take over your evening.
There’s also a dedicated tasting menu with white truffle in every course, right through to panna cotta ice cream with caramel sauce. Anyone who considers dessert an interruption to truffle season: problem solved. The tasting menu is ordered by the whole table; request current prices and dates when reserving.
Haute Living take: Truffle from first bite to last, with Barbaresco hills out the window.
Locanda del Pilone
Alba, Piedmont | One Michelin star
Locanda del Pilone is another reason to give Alba more than one dinner. Chef Federico Gallo’s kitchen adds a dedicated Alba white truffle menu each autumn, turning the season into an occasion of its own and offering a second chef’s take on the region’s star ingredient.
The restaurant confirmed its 2026 truffle menu in an August announcement, but dishes, prices and dates weren’t specified, so ask for the seasonal menu when booking and let the kitchen guide you based on what’s arriving that week.
Haute Living take: A second Alba night that earns its place on the itinerary.
Antica Corona Reale
Cervere, Piedmont | Two Michelin stars
A truffle pilgrimage should include a restaurant with deep roots in the landscape. At Antica Corona Reale, Gian Piero Vivalda’s cooking is built on Piedmontese ingredients and traditions, with Alba white truffle named among the kitchen’s essential seasonal products, alongside regional vegetables, Piedmontese beef and handmade filled pastas.
Its published menu doesn’t list a specific truffle dish or supplement, so confirm the season’s preparations and sourcing before booking a truffle-focused visit, and let the restaurant tell you what’s exceptional that week.
Haute Living take: Piedmont on a plate, with truffles as the crowning touch.
Da Vittorio
Brusaporto, Lombardy | Three Michelin stars
For those willing to extend the journey into Lombardy, the Cerea family’s Da Vittorio offers a gloriously indulgent proposition. Its truffle menu features eight pairings created daily around the ingredient; the alternative lets guests choose the type and quantity of truffles from the restaurant’s private selection, which makes restraint very difficult indeed.
The posted eight-course menu is €480, excluding drinks; the alternative is €260, with truffles at market price. Reconfirm prices, varieties and origins for the season. The appeal is a meal shaped by your own enthusiasm.
Haute Living take: Choose your own truffle adventure. Restraint optional.
Osteria Francescana
Modena, Emilia-Romagna | Three Michelin stars
A detour to Modena brings Massimo Bottura into the story, and a kitchen where Italian food becomes a vehicle for art, memory and imagination. The current “Ho Fame! Ho Fame!” tasting menu (€350, with an optional €240 wine pairing) includes a course intriguingly titled “Alba.”
For a trip built around white truffles, ask about the seasonal preparation, sourcing and supplement before reserving: the published menu doesn’t describe the “Alba” course’s ingredients, and the à la carte truffle ravioli feature black truffle. Even so, Bottura makes a spectacular final stop on any Italian culinary journey.
Haute Living take: The grand finale. Confirm the truffle, then just enjoy the show.
