Inside Tiffany & Co.’s South Coast Plaza Grand Opening: The Jewelry, the Dinner & the Guest List

Tiffany & Co. doesn’t open a store quietly, and the grand opening of its new South Coast Plaza location on September 23rd proved it. The Orange County celebration brought together California’s natural landscape, a Daniel Boulud dinner, a performance by Ashe, and a guest list dressed in some of the most covetable jewelry in the current Tiffany lineup — all inside a space transformed into a floral environment inspired by the wild poppies of the California coast, a direct nod to the natural world that defined the work of legendary Tiffany designer Jean Schlumberger.

Guests arrived to canapés, champagne, and cocktails while exploring the store-turned-landscape before sitting down to a multi-course dinner curated by Boulud, built around the abundance and specific flavors of Southern California. It was the kind of evening where the jewelry and the setting genuinely matched each other — and the room made that case effortlessly.

Zoey Deutch wore a soon-to-debut Hardwear Color collection medium link necklace in yellow gold with pearls and turquoise. Laura Harrier arrived in a Bird on a Rock by Tiffany necklace in platinum and yellow gold alongside a 12-carat rubellite necklace with diamonds. Charles Melton wore an aquamarine Bird on a Rock brooch with the Tiffany Timer Chronograph watch in titanium and platinum. Kelsey Merritt — a Haute Living cover star — wore the Sixteen Stone by Tiffany platinum and diamond necklace, earrings, and rings throughout the evening. Ashe, who closed the night with a special performance, wore new Bird on a Rock fine jewelry styles and Elsa Peretti Gold and Diamond Bone Cuffs.

The new South Coast Plaza store is now open, offering High Jewelry, Tiffany’s iconic collections, and the Blue Box Café by Daniel Boulud — the restaurant that made its California debut alongside the store.
