The latest addition to La Beauté Louis Vuitton, the LV Crayon is a first-of-its-kind monogram-shaped lip liner conceived by Dame Pat McGrath — the Maison’s Creative Director of Cosmetics — as a direct translation of her legendary backstage precision into a single, daily ritual. “Every look I have ever created on the Louis Vuitton runway begins with the lip line,” McGrath has said. “It is where precision becomes art.”

The crayon itself is as much objet d’art as makeup essential. Designed by craftsman Konstantin Grcic, the body takes the shape of the iconic LV monogram flower — a detail that serves both as aesthetic signature and functional design, enhancing application control. A matte black wood exterior gives way to an ombré pencil that transitions from glossy tip to semi-matte body, revealing each shade before it even touches the skin. The gold monogram flower cap echoes the codes of LV Rouge, the Maison’s landmark lipstick launch, and closes the collection into a cohesive system of lip artistry.

The formula matches the design. Infused with a peptide, the LV Crayon delivers a creamy, melting texture that glides on effortlessly while visibly plumping and defining the lip contour. It wears all day, resists bleeding for 24 hours, holds true color for 12, and preserves hydration throughout — performance credentials that sit well alongside the craftsmanship of the case holding it.

The collection launches in ten shades curated with McGrath’s characteristic precision: from Beige Atlas, a sun-warmed nude-brown evoking ancient maps, to Nude Rêverie, her ultimate dream nude that blurs the line between skin and color; from the electric magenta of Pink Aurora to the heritage richness of Monogram Rouge, a deep bordeaux red born from the Maison’s iconic canvas. Rouge Louis — the vivid crimson of Louis Vuitton’s founding lipstick — arrives in liner form, as fearless in pencil as it is in bullet.

McGrath has also offered four signature application techniques to accompany the launch: the Classic Overline for sculptural, skin-adaptive definition; the Premiere Plump, a contouring method she credits to Emma Stone’s red carpet look; the Blur Illusion, the diffused romantic finish that redefined modern lip artistry; and the Ombré Legacy, which pairs Rouge Louis and Monogram Rouge in a gradient she describes as “beauty as legacy.”
