5 Reasons Why Beverly Hills Should Be Your Go-To Cultural Destination This Summer

Beverly Hills has long been celebrated for its glitz, glamour and luxury, but this summer, the city will showcase why it’s also a true cultural destination. Come August, the Beverly Hills Conference & Visitors Bureau will bring to life its third annual BOLD Summer— a bi-annual event where Beverly Hills’ world-renowned fashion houses and one-of-a-kind local boutiques stay open late so travelers can experience the city after hours—and simultaneously celebrate the best of art, music and fashion. BOLD Summer begins on August 1 with an extravagant block party on the iconic Rodeo Drive and continues every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday throughout the month with programming aimed at enlivening Beverly Hills’ streets with nightlife and culture. 1. Louis Vuitton X. To pay homage to the destination’s iconic shopping heritage, Louis Vuitton Moet & Hennessy (LVMH) will have a pop-up shop names “” available for visitors to experience during the special summer hours. The pop-up launched on June 28th with nine rooms showcasing more than 180 items from the Louis Vuitton archives.

2. The Peninsula Beverly Hills. The Peninsula Beverly Hills is bringing Los Angeles’ vibrant street art to The Belvedere Terrace with the introduction of the Emerging Artists Series in partnership with Impermanent Art. The Terrace will come alive as a rotating selection of infamous street artists create one-of-a-kind works of art in real time as part of the 16-week series, taking place each Thursday, now through September 5th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Guests can enjoy specialty cocktails and bites from an art-inspired menu, while live pop and rock music fills the air. Every first Thursday of the month, this haute hotel will also donate 20% of proceeds to the Trevor Project, the leading national organization providing crisis intervention services to the LGBTQ+ community.

3. Special activations. The city will showcase its unique art scene through an array of activations, including the unveiling of a sculpture by world- renowned artist Janet Echelman, titled “1.78,” that will be positioned above Santa Monica Boulevard in front of The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts.

4. Art, art, art. Art aficionados will find a live art experience by famous street artist, Mr. Brainwash, guided tours and panel discussions at the destination’s popular art galleries like Galerie Michael and Gagosian on August 3 and August 17, and architectural tours of the city, led by historian Phil Savenick.

5. Beautiful music. Visitors should take advantage of the diverse free concerts in Beverly Canon Park, adjacent to the beautiful Montage  Beverly Hills (and meander through the newly refurbished Beverly Gardens Park). On Saturday evenings, the city offers its PROMS initiative, a new series featuring music from around the world. PROMS performances vary per evening and continue throughout the summer. On Thursdays, make sure not to miss Concerts on Canon, a series of local, professional and talented musicians across a variety of genres.
