CBD is all the rage these days. Case in point: luxury realtor Neiman Marcus has recently jumped on the CBD bandwagon by curating a collection of beauty products that carry the plant extract. For those not in the know, CBD stands for cannabidiol and is a chemical compound found in marijuana and hemp plants. Unlike THC, CBD does not get the user high; it does, however, have pain-killing qualities and stress-reducing benefits.

CBD is most commonly found as an oil which is used in all sorts of products, from lip gloss to facial serum. “Cannabis beauty brands are becoming increasingly popular, and CBD products are the next big thing in beauty,” Kim D’Angelo, Neiman Marcus’ beauty buyer, said in an email. “Our CBD assortment is an important part of our brand’s commitment to the health and well-being of our customers.”

D’Angelo and a team of 20 millennial-aged assistant buyers, merchandise planners, and coordinators from the department store’s beauty merchant division searched far and wide for the best CBD beauty products out there. The brands they decided to feature are Sagely Naturals, Cannuka, Cannabliss Organic, Code of Harmony, Iidi Pekar, Yuyo Botanics, and Vertly.

CBD is not legal in all of Neiman Marcus’ markets, and the new items can only be found at five stores—in Beverly Hills, Fashion Island, Boston, Denver, and San Francisco. With the launch of cannabis-products Neiman’s hopes to attract a savvy new consumer. “Our trending beauty initiative is a way we are differentiating ourselves from competitors,” D’Angelo says. “Through this beauty category, we offer an assortment of emerging modern and relevant brands and product categories aimed to target a new customer demographic, while also offering our tried and true heritage brands.”
