Bonhams & Butterfields Auction House in Beverly Hills hosted the first-ever Art Project Los Angeles 2010 charity auction June 25-27. Luxury Swiss watchmaker Richard Mille and the trendy Los Angeles watch boutique Westime sponsored the event, which raised money for the AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA), one of the largest non-profit AIDS organizations in the United States. Among celebrity guests to attend the function were Jennifer Love Hewitt, Olivia Newton-John and Tony Award winner John Lloyd Young, pictured below.
Out of both the live and silent auctions, the item with the highest bid was a Richard Mille RM 011 Ti Americas Black limited edition watch. The impressive watch auctioned off for $92,000. The watch is part of an exclusive 50-piece collection that will not debut until the opening of the Richard Mille flagship store in Beverly Hills this September.
The event raised more than $230,000 for APLA, which will go directly toward helping HIV/AIDS prevention education and related AIDS community services around the world.
