Haute 100: The Clintons Welcome Their First Grandson
Congratulations are in order for Chelsea Clinton, daughter of presumptive U.S. democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and former President Bill Clinton. The daughter of the couple gave birth to a healthy baby boy over the weekend.
The 33-year-old revealed via Twitter that she gave birth on Saturday, June 18th at 7:41 a.m.
In an official press statement, the couple said, “We are overjoyed to be grandparents again with the arrival of our grandson, Aidan Clinton Mezvinsky, born on Saturday, June 18, 2016. We are all over the moon as Chelsea and Marc welcome Charlotte’s little brother to the world and grateful for our many blessings. Chelsea and Aidan are both doing well and enjoying this very special time together.”
However, the official press statement wasn’t the only place the happy grandparents express their joy. The presumptive U.S. democratic presidential candidate tweeted, “What a joy being with our new grandson, Aidan. So grateful. –H.” While her husband and former President Bill Clinton tweeted, Aidan has made two dads very happy this Father’s Day. Hillary and I are thrilled for Marc and Chelsea!”
There aren’t details regarding how many pounds he weighed in at during birth.
Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky married in 2010 and are already parents to a nearly two-year-old daughter, Charlotte. Charlotte was born on Sept. 26, 2014, and will soon celebrate her third birthday.
As for the Secretary of State, she is currently building her campaign team. It was announced one of President Barack Obama’s economic advisers will join Hillary’s campaign. Jacob Leibenluft, deputy director of the National Economic Council, will become a senior policy adviser as she prepares to fill out her economic agenda for the general election. Since President Barack Obama’s first term, Leibenluf has served on Obama’s economic team. He has focused on policies on job training, apprenticeships and minimum wage.
