Haute 100: Francis Ford Coppola to Publish ‘The Godfather Notebook’ With Never-Before-Seen Notes & Photos

The Godfather has become one of the most notorious mob movies to have ever hit the big screens. Forty-five years later it is still regarded as one of the greatest films of all time. If Godfather devotees ever hoped for an insider’s view of the film, here’s your chance. Director Francis Ford Coppola has announced he will release his personal notes and annotated pages of the film.

The Godfather Notebook will feature Coppola’s creative process that was written on the original pages of the novel written by Mario Puzo. The 720-page notebook will depict casting notes and a new, moving introduction by Coppola. In a statement, Coppola said, “This notebook was my private work reference to The Godfather film, and after many years, I’m excited to share it with those who may be interested. It is the key to understanding what went into making the film from Mario Puzo’s novel.”

In addition to the 77-year-old legendary film director’s personal notes, the book will boast never-before-seen photos. If you can get your hands on a copy, Coppola will also be signing limited and numbered editions, making the book a collector’s item.
