Inside the W Los Angeles’ $25 Million Transformation
Those who have visited the W Los Angeles in the past are in for a surprise thanks to the hotel’s recent transformative $25 million renovation.
New updates make the most of the hotel’s stellar location—it’s sandwiched in between Beverly Hills and Bel-Air and located just a stone’s throw away from Sunset Boulevard and Santa Monica’s beaches— one you can’t miss.
Dawson Design Associates maximized the hotel’s already secret, tucked away vibe and added to it in the form of 297 newly re-imagined suites, including an Extreme WOW suite (the W brand’s take on the Presidential Suite). This is pure Hollywood. Those looking for that WOW factor will find it in the form of an intimate, state-of-the-art screening room, fresh, contemporary yet bold and decadent décor—think sleek sectional sofas and sophisticated lighting—which, along with louvered windows and filtered light, make this haute hotel feel like a secret garden retreat.
In addition to the cool new vibe of its rooms, there’s a party going on at check-in thanks to vibrant, pulsating lights that sync with the beat of a DJ beneath an artistic canopy of floating back lit sculptures that seamlessly transition from day to night. There’s even a 12-foot water fall that features frequently changing projections and absolutely adds to the party vibe.
The top-to-bottom renovation also includes a new destination restaurant, STK, through a partnership with The ONE Group. If you haven’t been already, you must: the restaurant is all about putting the chic and glamorous in one sexy package, where you’ll find everything from a 32 oz. porterhouse to the 34 oz. Cowboy Rib Steak to A5 Japanese Wagyu.STK will also provide an updated menu concept at WET, the W Los Angeles’ lushly landscaped ground-level pool that features classic California-style cabanas for the ultimate summer escape.
As a side note, the hotel is continuously upping its cool factor by offering a new live music series called Rendition for guests, which takes place that last Thursday of every month at 8 p.m. in the Living Room. How’s that for haute?
