Fashion Guru Cameron Silver Shares His Desktop Essentials

Cameron Silver is a busy guy. The founder of Los Angeles’ mainstay boutique, Decades, is the fashion director for H by Halston, dresses many of Hollywood’s biggest stars such as Julia Roberts, Gwyneth Paltrow, Lady Gaga and Salma Hayek, works with the store he made an L.A. must and finds time to attend a plethora of Tinseltown’s hautest events. Now, the man that Time magazine named one of the “25 Most Influential Names and Faces in Fashion” is represented as a fashion collector and subject in the Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s (LACMA) upcoming exhibit “Reigning Men: Fashion in Menswear, 1715-2015,”which officially opens on April 10th.  The exhibit takes you on an in-depth journey of men’s high fashion and history from the eighteenth century to the present. Cameron loves to share the history and importance of men’s fashion and made this exhibit possible by making significant contributions of his personal pieces from his closet such as Alexander McQueen, CHANEL, Gaultier, MOSCHINO, Givenchy and more. Here, the fashion guru  and man-about-town shares a peek at where he finds sartorial inspiration. 

• My fashion bibles are always on my desk for perpetual inspiration including two tomes on Halston and my book, Decades: A Century of Fashion. I am a big fan of a handwritten letter so I keep my Mont Blanc pen by my side.
• My head phones were handcrafted in Italy by Pryma. Usually I’m listening to political pundits more than pop. 
• Chrisitan Roth gifted me the archival shades because they reminded him of Halston’s. 
• If I am really excited about a particular new design I keep it by my side like our new trapeze statement bag. 
• Instead of traditional art on the walls, I adore the prints our team designs and rotate the originals throughout the season to decorate around my desk.
