News | June 25, 2010

On Friday, June 4, members of the San Francisco community gathered at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts to celebrate the new Chinatown YMCA. Dean Henry, chairman of the YMCA of San Francisco, and the Chinatown Capital Fundraising Committee were awarded the first-ever Capital Campaign Achievement Award for their successful fund-raising efforts for the new YMCA. Together, they were able to raise $12 million.

Also honored at the event was the Pacific Gas & Electric Co. for its continuous support in the YMCA’s after-school enrichment and environmental education programs.
