NYC: The Art Of Eating At TAO Group’s New VANDAL Restaurant
Culinary art coexists with global street art at New York City’s newest hotspot VANDAL. While some artists’ use a canvas to display their work, others use plates. Culinary artistry is exemplified at TAO Group’s exciting VANDAL restaurant.
The opening of VANDAL drew in a diverse crowd of culinary and art connoisseurs. TAO Group founders Marc Packer and Rich Wolf, along with Chef and Owner Chris Santos have curated a one-of-a-kind experience for trend-setting New Yorkers looking for the next big thing. Big names like Chanel Iman, Maggie Gyllenhal, Tyson Beckford and Allison Williams came to celebrate the new venture.
Walking into VANDAL is like walking into a curated underground gallery featuring the best street artists from around the world. Except better because unlike at a gallery here you can eat and drink to your hearts content. VANDAL brought together renowned artists from around the world to contribute to the project. Work from HUSH, Shepard Fairey, Apexer, Tristan Eaton, Eelus, Vhils and Will Barras set the scene at this incredible new restaurant.
The beautiful 360-seat space however is merely a backdrop for the food to take center stage. Think tapas-style dishes like spicy korean rice cakes, chicken mole, peruvian style ceviche, and bacon and miso ramen. Essentially taking street food around the world and turning it into upscale eats. Pair your plates with a crafted cocktail like their Las Palmitas with Thai spiced Ilegal Mezcal, lemon nectar, and Thai basil.
If the opening was any sign to what VANDAL might be, you don’t want to miss out.
