Pull your light saber out of storage and give it a good polish because on December 17, 2015 The Theodore is throwing a Star Wars Party and they are inviting everyone. To celebrate the release of the new film, Star Wars:Episode VII – The Force Awakens, The Theodore will throw, what they’re calling, a Star Wars Cantina Party featuring a costume contest, prizes, and themed cocktails. Plus guests in costume will receive 10 percent off their order. The party begins at six p.m. and will be going strong until midnight. After all, how often do Jedis. Siths, Wookies, Jawas, and Ewoks get to hang out together and chat about old times?

The Theodore is located in NorthPark Center, in the spot that Luna de Noche used to occupy. In fact, they still have that awesome ceiling mural which just adds to The Theodore’s unique ambiance. We agree that it’s pretty unusual to have a great restaurant in a mall, and it’s even more unusual when there’s a great bar, too. Keep in mind that NorthPark isn’t just any mall and The Theodore isn’t just any restaurant/bar.

Unique Cocktails and an Extensive Wine List

Its name is a hat tip to Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th president, and the cocktails are named after national parks in honor of his conservation efforts. The Yosemite is concocted out of blueberries, basil, pink peppercorns, crème de viollette, and Reyka Vodka. It’s sweet, spicy, tangy, and truly beautiful. The Redwood cocktail is a mixture of house made jam, Carpano Antica (definitely our favorite vermouth), Campari, and Alberta Rye. These drinks are the kind that you just want to keep drinking all night. We haven’t experienced anything quite like them before. We will definitely be back because there are several more cocktails on the list and we are determined to be inclusive and not leave one out.

We were pleasantly surprised when glancing over the wine list. We were very tempted by the spicy Marchesi Di Barolo, Italy 2010 but we’d had enough cocktails to not want to risk waking up with a pounding headache. Other selections of note were the Marchesi Di Barolo, Italy 2010, the Duchman Vermentino, Texas and the Scharffenberg Brut Sparkling, California.

We’ll Definitely Be Back

The Theodore has been open just shy of a month and most of the normal glitches and gremlins associated with a new restaurant have been exorcised. Expect to be patient though, just in case there are a few strays running amok. All in all we love it and plan on making it a regular stop when we’re replacing our LUSH stash.

As far as the Star Wars Cantina Party? We wouldn’t miss it for the world.
