Gucci Unveils Haute New Window-Design Concept

Italian luxury brand Gucci has unveiled an uber-cool window-design concept that will showcase Alessandro Michele‘s 2016 Cruise collections in stores worldwide.

The window-design channels inspiration from Michele’s 2016 Cruise runway show for women. Each window is draped in Herbarium print covers. Not only the walls of the scene are adorned with the pattern, but also the floor, chairs and mannequins.

Accessories are placed on the chairs and ready-to-wear garments showcased on the tailor’s dummies. The scenes are designed to pique the interest of both men and women. The printed wallpaper is colored emerald green for men and cerise for women. There are chairs, which protrude horizontally from the back wall and are fixed upside down to the ceiling.

In addition, the brand unveiled a new concept store in Milan, right in time for fashion week. It is slated to showcase Michele’s first collections for fall/winter 2015-2016. Gucci’s haute new flagship store in Via Montenapoleone, Milan, is the first of the house’s global network of boutiques to be redesigned as well as set the tone for the new retail atmosphere.

In a statement, Michele said, “Today, we live in a world of contrasts and it is this that makes life interesting. The new store design not only brings together diverse elements, blurring the lines between the traditional and the contemporary, but also allows the clothes and accessories to speak for themselves.”

Travel is the central theme of the new store design, attributing the history of Gucci through decorative elements.

“The new store design is one of the key ways in which we are communicating Gucci’s new identity and it is not by chance that we are showcasing this at our Milan Montenapoleone flagship store, coinciding with the start of Milan Women’s Fashion Week.” said Marco Bizzarri, Gucci President and CEO. “The new contemporary vision for the brand is now clearly beginning to come to life across multiple touch-points: Alessandro’s new collections, new advertising campaigns, new store windows, new packaging and now a brand new store concept. We could not be more proud of what we have been able to accomplish so far, as we move to implement our new business strategy.”
