Texas native Matthew McConaughey will continue to be the face of Ford’s luxury automobile brand the Lincoln Motor Company. The Oscar winner will be featured in an ad campaign for the redesigned Lincoln MKX crossover.

McConaughey began as the face of the luxury car in 2014 for its “Live in Your Moment” campaign for the Lincoln MKC. Since then, the actor has helped increase sells for the luxury carmaker. Last year, Lincoln announced that its overall sales were up 25 percent last month, the strongest October for the automobile company since 2007. More importantly, of the 8,883 vehicles Lincoln sold in October, 2,197 of them were MKCs. Sales of the MKC have increased every month since the SUV launched last May but significantly increased from 1,763 units in September to 2,197 in October, following the debut of McConaughey commercials.

Earlier this year, McConaughey said, “A key reason why I chose to collaborate with Lincoln is because it is a brand that works hard to make a difference.”

According to the Detroit Free Press, this time around the luxury brand will focus more on the technology featured in the vehicle versus the actor’s ultra-cool swag.

The 2016 MKX will boast more technology. It will include conveniences like adaptive steering that delivers easier, more confident steering performance and feel, and enhanced active park assist for getting in or out of tight parking spaces easier than ever. Ultrasonic sensors can locate an available spot and help the vehicle steer itself into place. You can also use the MyLincoln Mobile 2.0 App with embedded modem to do things like lock, unlock and locate your vehicle from virtually anywhere or program an automatic remote start so that your Lincoln MKX will be all warmed up, or cool downed, and ready to go five to 10 minutes before you leave.

The 2.7-liter twin-turbocharged eco-boast V6 was tweaked to get more horsepower than it gets in the F-150 pickup, or the 3.5-liter V6. Additionally, the engine boast improved fuel economy and it was designed to be remarkably quiet.

The new campaign will debut Sept. 12 and broadcast plans include National Football League games, said John Emmert, group marketing manager for Lincoln. Until then, check out some of the old campaigns featuring McConaughey below.
