best san francisco hotel suites

News, Travel | August 18, 2014

Fortunate to be located in one of the world’s most beautiful cities, the best San Francisco hotel suites offer more than luxurious interiors. They also boast terraces that provide an haute backdrop for a swank outdoor soiree. With summer just around the corner in the City by the Bay, the outdoor entertaining season is about to heat up too.

For a spectacular look back at the city and its surroundings, there’s no hauter suite than the spectacular, $10,000 a night Alexandrite Suite at Casa Madrona Hotel & Spa in Sausalito. Situated in the hotel’s recently-renovated historic mansion, which dates back to 1885, this new, two-bedroom, two-and-a-half bath Alexandrite Suite offers 3,500 square feet of indoor space. But it’s the jaw-dropping 1,500 square foot terrace that sparkles most and is ideal for waterfront entertaining.

Sip champagne and soak up views of the San Francisco skyline, Richardson Bay and Bay Bridge from this suite while a personal chef puts the Wolf six-burner bar-b-que grill to good use. A bar, hot tub and fire pit round out the terrace.

Floor to ceiling glass patio doors make it easy for guests to flow inside and out. Equipped with the latest technology, the Alexandrite Suite includes a video wall with nine Samsung Smart televisions, each measuring 55”, that can show one mega image or nine individual ones.

Speaking of nine, the Alexandrite Suite also has nine additional bedrooms spread over the second and third floors. Book all of them, plus the Suite, for $25,00 per night. Still need more room? There’s also a 1,700 square-foot event space and 600-square-foot deck with the saw awe-inspiring views directly below this suite.

While the Alexandrite Suite is the new kid on the block, don’t forget about some of the other best San Francisco hotel suites that are the perfect place to throw a haute party:

The Penthouse Suite at The Fairmont San Francisco: This suite boasts 6,000 square feet of elegance and an expansive terrace with sweeping views of San Francisco.

Oriental Suite at Mandarin Oriental: This magnificent 2,000 square foot sanctuary features a spectacular 800-square-foot terrace boasting views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Bay and Bay Bridge.

Presidential Suite at the Intercontinental San Francisco: Spread over the 31st and 32nd floors, the terraces from this 2,000 square-foot duplex offer uninterrupted views of San Francisco.

Presidential Suite at the Sir Francis Drake Hotel: Perfect for an intimate gathering, the terrace on this 1,125 square-foot-suite offers views of Union Square.
