Haute Event: Broadway Barks Annual Adopt-a-thon
Bernadette Peters and Harvey Fierstein hosted the 15th Annual Broadway Barks Adopt-a-thon on Saturday in Shubert Alley. Produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and sponsored by the ASPCA, the event brings together the best of Manhattan. Broadway Barks assists hundreds of NYC shelters by finding the furry friends permanent homes in the tri-state area. To raise the woof and money, Peters and Fierstein’s fellow Broadway stars came out to present the pets. The star-studded guest list included Sigourney Weaver, Arthur Darvill, Corey Cott, Joanna Christie, David Hyde Pierce, Judy McLane, Felicia Finley, Billy Porter, Stark Sands, Annaleigh Ashford and the four Matildas.
Peters and Mary Tyler Moore co-founded Broadway Barks, but Moore could not participate in this year’s event due to illness.
