Sharon Socol To Sign Fashion Book, ‘Plus One’ At Books & Books
After spending ten years inside the fashion world, Sharon Socol has now come out with her first book, Plus One: An Outsider’s Photographic Journey Into The World Of Fasion. Socol is married to Howard Socol who was the former CEO of Barneys New York for eight years. She has said her husband would receive hundreds of invitations with, “You + Plus One are cordially invited to attend…”
So what did Sharon Socol do as a Plus One? She became a photographer who documented everything in the fashion world around her. “I am a photographer who likes to record the world around her intuitively and spontaneously, who thinks of her camera as her voice. My camera and photographs records what I am feeling and seeing.”
Socol has also created a writing and photography program, “Photographing Ourselves,” which helps children in Miami and New York develop self-confidence. She will be at the Courtyard of Books & Books in Coral Gables on Saturday, February 2nd from 8 PM for a book signing celebration.
