NYC’s Top Architects Design Shelters For Homeless Cats
Several of New York’s hottest architectural firms are joining forces to help the city’s homeless cat population. Over one million animals, mostly cats, are currently living on the streets of the Big Apple.
To help city kitties stay warm in the winter weather, eight top firms have built and donated “colorful and imaginative” outdoor animal shelters. The housing will be unveiled at an event sponsored by Architects for Animals and the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals on Jan. 10. Attendees will have a chance to vote for their favorite shelter, which will then be donated to cat caretakers throughout the city.
This year’s participating firms include H3 Hardy Collaborative Architecture, Francis Cauffman Architects, M Moser Associates, Callison Barteluce, Stonehill & Taylor Architects, Zimmerman Workshop and Pilot Projects Design Collective.
