Bruno Mars & Anderson .Paak Were Among the First Inside Bar Shishi Miami Beach

Bar Shishi, the h.wood Group's Tokyo-inspired cocktail lounge at RIVANI Miami Beach, opened September 17, 2026.

On Thursday, September 17, the Los Angeles-based hospitality company behind Delilah and The Nice Guy debuted its most ambitious Miami concept yet, a Japanese-inspired cocktail lounge and vinyl destination tucked behind a guardian lion on the third floor of RIVANI’s $125 million Class X office redevelopment in Miami Beach. The guests who came to see it first included Bruno Mars and AndersonPaak performing as DJ Pee. Wee alongside DJ Cardi, Marcus Jordan, Daymond John, Terrence J, internationally renowned pop artist Romero Britto, Love Island USA’s Jennifer Terry, and Kygo’s longtime manager Myles Shear.

The concept is crafted to feel like a discovery, intimate, effortless, and made for long nights that turn into mornings, as h.wood Group co-founders John Terzian and Brian Toll described it when the project was first announced. The room delivers on that promise. Dark and sultry, with wood, stone, and marble, amber lighting, jewel-toned accents, and curving banquettes, Bar Shishi channels Tokyo’s tucked-away cocktail bars and intimate listening rooms with a specificity that most Miami concepts do not attempt and fewer achieve.

A 12-seat bar anchors the space, while a vinyl DJ booth and 108 private spirits cabinets give the lounge a distinctly members-club-ish feel. Those cabinets belong to annual RIVANI members and include personalized plaques and priority reservations. Eddie McDonald, known as Eddie Mac, curated the vinyl program specifically for the bar, selecting more than 100 records to set the room’s tone through the night.

Behind the bar, Senior Bar Manager and Certified Japanese Ice Master Kevin Lee made cocktail preparation part of the evening’s spectacle, serving drinks built around hand-carved diamond ice, Japanese kakigori-style shaved ice, cobbler shaking, and cocktail throwing. The Guava Kakigori, combining rum, guava, yuzu, and shiso in a sculptural take on Japanese shaved ice, and the Hakushu 12 Old Fashioned served over a hand-carved ice diamond were among the opening evening’s standout pours. Japanese-inspired bites including Hamachi Crudo, hand rolls, and A5 Wagyu Katsu accompanied the cocktail program.

RIVANI founder Robert Rivani described the concept as giving tenants the ability to entertain like they are at a private members’ club in Tokyo, right here in Miami Beach. The building’s tenant roster reflects that ambition. Playboy Enterprises plans to relocate its global headquarters there. Shark Tank investor and FUBU founder Daymond John also operates out of the building. The $125 million redevelopment, which Robert Rivani acquired for $62.5 million in 2024, is positioning itself as South Florida’s most experiential commercial address.

For The h.wood Group, Bar Shishi represents a significant step in the company’s expansion beyond Los Angeles, following Delilah Miami in Brickell and building toward a national and international footprint that now includes The Nice Guy Dubai and The Bird Streets Club in West Hollywood. The Miami Beach location, steps from Lincoln Road and operating as both a private RIVANI amenity during the day and a public destination by night, is the group’s most specifically conceived concept to date. The opening night suggested Miami Beach was ready for it.

Bar Shishi is located at 1691 Michigan Avenue, Miami Beach, on RIVANI’s third floor. Public evening service runs Wednesday through Saturday from 7 PM to close. Reservations drop daily at midnight for the following 30 days.
