Gucci Unveils New Comic Book Themed Window Installations
Gucci has teamed up with Japanese manga artist Hirohiko Araki to produce art for window installations at more than 70 Gucci stores worldwide. The illustrated displays will feature 3D effects and reference Gucci’s flora pattern, while telling the story of Jolyne Cujoh, a student who inherits a vintage treasure from her mother’s collection of Gucci.
“The character that Hirohiko has conceived combine an energy, sensuality, and appeal that brings my cruise collection to life in such a compelling way,” Creative Director Frida Giannini told Women’s Wear Daily. “I am quite sure his window installations will stop people in their tracks in cities around the world as they immerse themselves in the fabulous fantasy world he has created.”
The installations will be on display through February and will be compiled into a comic book entitled “Jolyne, Fly High with Gucci.”
