Peace of Sole – A luxe holiday gift that gives back

Christian Louboutin creates literally uplifting shoes with his vivacious red soled stilletos.  However this season he created a limited shoe where purchasing one helps uplift your sole and soul.  After reading, “Creating a World Without Poverty,” written by Nobel Prize winner Muhammad Yunus, founder of Grameen Bank and Grameen Foundation, Mr. Louboutin explained that “When I read this book, I fell in love with this wonderful man — his ideas and his ideals.”

Hence the creation of “Peace of Sole”, a limited edition whereby only 33 of these iconic platform peep toe pumps will be made in 3 different colorways.  The heel named “Peace of Shoe,” is a silk peep-toe platform trimmed with hand-stitched embroidered Indian ribbon.  100% of the proceeds of these pairs, priced at $1,495 each will be donated to Grameen Foundation’s microfinance fund.  In New York, the shoe is offered in champagne, in Miami , in lavender; and in Los Angeles in pink.  While us San Franciscans may miss out, we know our readers at Haute Living often have multiple residences and strong connections to sales associates in one of these stores.  Every shoe for the cause has been signed by Mr. Louboutin himself and numbered.  While these probably have sold out already, since they were launched right after Thanksgiving, we like to keep this on our holiday luxe wishlist because there is no better gift than one that gives back.
