Ice Palace Reclaims Former Karu & Y Space
This one is music to our ears.
Ice Palace Film Studios officially announced they’ve snatched up their west building, formally known as the dying Karu & Y, and reclaimed it as part of the overall complex. Between an overpriced menu and terrible location, we can’t help but wonder why it took them three years to reclaim the space.
“We feel there is a real need for elegant and flexible spaces where people can produce creative events of all kinds and strive to be an effective resource for south Florida’s tourism and advertising industry, as well as the local community which is in dire need of a space of this nature,” says Owner Eugene Rodriguez.
According to press materials, the entire facility, located at 59 N.W. 14th St. in Miami, is on 143,000 square feet of land which features 20,000 square feet of interior space in its west building and 65,000 square feet in its east building. The facility also features 58,000 square feet of gardens. It will now focus exclusively as being a production facility as well as host special events.
