Carolina Herrera Opens at Al Hamra Luxury Center in Kuwait

The subdued and elegant lines of American label Carolina Herrera can now be found at Al Hamra Luxury Center in Kuwait. Inspired by the luxurious interiors found in Arabic architecture, the space maintains the key element refinement that marks the designer’s stores around the world. Additional decorative features include detailing commonly found in Arabian palaces, mosques and madrasas or schools creating a sophisticated environment reminiscent of the luxury associated with the Nasrid era.

The new store is 350 square meters in size and is designed according to Arabic interiors including filtered lighting, silk rugs and warm colors exuding a welcoming ambiance for all who enter. The warmly colored Berber haimas lit by lanterns and the fabric-covered ceilings are the predominant features of the entrance area. Visitors are made to feel right at home and can enjoy sitting on the beautiful low ottoman sofas complimented by luxurious silk and velvet cushions. Paper lanterns are hung above and gently enhance the effect of the pervading light reappropriating the representation of the patios found in Umayyad palaces.

Touches of decorative arts and filigree work prominent in the architecture of the era can be found in the men’s area. These include geometric motifs on the wooden coffered ceiling which lend a masculine and refined air to the space.
