Chalk blowing in the wind and grey skies threatening a downpour couldn’t stop between 2,000 and 3,000 art enthusiasts from attending the 18th annual Street Painting Festival in downtown Lake Worth Saturday.

Amateur and professional artists alike sketched dragons, elephants, monkeys, French women and convertibles, and periodic drizzles didn’t wash away enthusiasm.

David Londen of West Palm Beach called the festival fascinating.

“I’m thrilled it didn’t rain much,” David Londen of West Palm Beach said. “I really like the creative energy.”
