Cafe Boulud’s inventive pastry chef, Arnaud Chavigny, hung in the competition for Food & Wine magazine’s The People’s Best New Pastry Chef for a week, but in the end, the honor was given to Baltimore Chef Chris Ford of Wit and Wisdom. The winner was chosen by an online readers poll sponsored by Godiva.
French-born Arnaud was one of 50 nominees from three U.S. regions announced by the magazine last week. He has been the pastry chef at Cafe Boulud since July 2010.
