We are living in tough economic times, but that’s not stopping Stuart Weitzman, the famed fashion designer known for his signature stilettos, from launching a new collection for Fall 2012.
Clothing lines like Missoni and Versace have molded with the recession by collaborating with chains like Target and H&M. But there is a demand for higher end shoes, and Weitzman plans to answer that call with the SW1 collection. The SW1 features handbags as well as his trademark stilettos.

Typically a Weitzman stiletto goes for $300, but his new collection will up the ante with $595 for satin or suede dress shoes, $795 for booties and $995 for boots. All in all, the collection will feature 50 shoes in leather, satin, suede, metal, natural shells even Swarovski diamonds- so haute.
The handbags in the collection go under three themes. First theirs a neutral category with light tones, another is exotic python bags and finally day-to-day totes.
Weitzman made headlines with his “million dollar shoe,” a diamond encrusted stiletto reminiscent of something Cinderella would wear.
