Harboring Hearts & Do Good! First Annual Benefit

News | December 9, 2009

Harboring Hearts Housing in conjunction with Do Good! held their First Annual Benefit Friday December 4th, at midtown location Haven. The venue was gilded in shades of red, from the soles of Christian Louboutin, to the red silk taffeta dresses, and passed chocolate covered strawberries, all with a soft sheen cast from red and amber lampshades.

Beneath the glimmering chandeliers and rich mahogany, Rock Band American Buffalo, Daphne Oz, daughter of Dr. Mehmet Oz (http://www.doctoroz.com), and Freddie Fackelmayer from MTV’s The City mingled among the 300 young professionals, cardiologists, and finance executives. Guests enjoyed upbeat music by DJ-AK (www.ak-dj.com), unlimited cocktails, and bids on silent auction items like Front Row Sporting Event Tickets, a champagne brunch for six at Day and Night, and luxury vacations. As the hour struck midnight, lavish gift bags were distributed to attendees.

The 501(3)(c) organization was founded by Michelle Javian, Yuki Kotani, Jessica Melore, and Hadley Mongell. Each founding member has experienced a loved one with heart disease and ultimately a heart transplant. Harboring Hearts mission is to provide, temporary housing for cardiac patients and their caregivers during a time of need.(www.harboringhearts.org).
