Loro Piana Presented Its Spring/Summer 2027 Collection in a 1770 Milanese Library

Palazzo di Brera on a September afternoon is already one of Milan’s best places to be. Inside the Biblioteca Nazionale Braidense, Loro Piana had arranged Solutions For — its Spring/Summer 2027 collection — across walnut display cases, library ladders, and the kind of quiet that makes you actually look at clothes.

As one of Italy’s most important public libraries, founded in 1770 and open to the public since 1786, the setting was not incidental. A house built on the pursuit of the finest fibers and the most studied fabrics belongs in a library. Both are about the long accumulation of knowledge, applied with precision.

Inside the Maria Teresa room, tall canvas panels in Loro Piana’s signature Kummel color rose between the windows, displaying original sketches of the house’s archetypes alongside the garments themselves. The Grande Unità scarves — the Maison’s first icon — were arranged inside walnut display cases like objects worthy of genuine study. Each piece was accompanied by a poem. Library ladders served as display structures for the season’s bags and soft accessories. Beyond that room, guests moved into the Sala Lettura, where the collection’s silhouettes stood naturally in the historical setting alongside four interaction stations: a fabric book, a tailoring table, a sunglasses table, and a screen-printing demonstration. The presentation rewarded attention.

Solutions For is organized as a seasonal flow from colder months through full summer, day through evening, with one governing idea: Loro Piana creates because there is a need to answer. For staying warm. For life outside. For days on the course. For the evening hour. For early escapes and long beach days. The archetypes that carry this across both men’s and women’s collections are exactly what they sound like — the camel blazer, the balmacaan coat, the trench coat, the safari field jacket, the little black dress, the cape — executed in the noblest materials and stripped to their timeless essence.

For women, the silhouette is elongated, soft, and layered, grounded in flats or low-heeled shoes and topped by statement hats. Cashmere gives way to linen, linen to silk, as the season advances. Coats hold their line, bombers have substance, capes wrap. Tweed jackets carry academic charm. As warmth arrives, layers open and the body gains air and movement — expedition shirts, sahariennes, and field jackets lead into crochet ensembles, apron dresses, and silk pajamas at the beach. Evening arrives in florals as faint as impressions, shapes as floaty as the light itself. For men, the ease is the point: blazers with chinos, coats with jeans, bombers mixed with trousers tucked into socks.
