Save the Date: Top Design Stars Headline Housing Works Annual Benefit
Next week, Housing Works will present its seventh-annual Design on a Dime interior design shopping benefit at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City. This year, Design on a Dime’s founding chair, designer James Huniford, will be joined by an incredible group of co-chairs, including:
Iman (Founder and CEO of IMAN Home Fabrics)
Lara Spencer (Host of The Insider and celebrity design clients include Kathy Griffin)
Nate Berkus (Designer and Host of The Nate Berkus Show)
Charlotte Moss (Acclaimed designer and author)
This is one of the hottest charity events of the year in New York City and by attending you’ll not only get to rub elbows with the who’s who of the design industry, but you’ll be supporting an amazing cause.
More than 50 of the country’s top designers will put together new home furnishings, artwork and accessories to create unforgettable room vignettes. All items will be sold for 40 to 60 percent off retail pricing with proceeds benefiting Housing Works, New York’s largest community-based AIDS service organization.
Design on a Dime offers a rare opportunity to see the work of an array of high-profile talents under one roof.

With the support of sponsors such as Traditional Home , HSBC Private Bank, Valspar Paint and SFERRA, Design on a Dime 2011 will raise funds for Housing Works’ newest residence, the Jefferson Avenue Housing Program in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.
The Jefferson Avenue Housing Program, the beneficiary of this year’s Design on a Dime, will provide 12 apartments for homeless New Yorkers living with HIV/AIDS. The residence, which will have a green roof as well as other environmentally friendly features in one of the New York communities hardest hit by AIDS. Funded in part by the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Jefferson Avenue is slated to be completed by 2012.
The Opening Night Reception will take place May 5 from 7 to 10 p.m.
