Academy of Art University stepped it up a notch at the VIP opening party for The 52nd San Francisco International Auto Show on the evening of December 1.  Nearly three hundred guests arrived at Moscone Convention Center donning in their vintage best for the 1930’s themed cocktail party, kicking off a week-long exhibit in the show, which included 32 cars from the decade on display.  Added to the mix were models showcasing vintage-inspired gowns designed by students from the School of Fashion, as well as live automobile sketching by students from the School of Industrial Design.

The exquisite selection of vehicles on display- which featured models such as the 1934 Cadillac V16 Aero Coupe and 1930 Duesenberg Dual Cowl Phaeton- is part of a larger collection from the University’s Classic Car Museum, primarily used for student reference in the School of Industrial Design, which is housed in the same building.  Also on view in the exhibit was the Academy of Art University Traveling Show, showcasing the best student work from each one of its 15 majors.
