Charity Benefit “Banking on a Cure” To Be Held at The Plaza Hotel

The Foundation Fighting Blindness will hold a gala benefit at the historic Plaza Hotel next Wednesday. The event is being put on to benefit the Foundation Fighting Blindness, a non-profit that aims to support research that will provide preventions, treatments and cures for retinitis pigmentosa, macular degeneration, Usher Syndrome and the entire spectrum of retinal degenerative diseases.

The event will honor Aryeh B. Bourkoff, Vice Chairman, global head of TMT, UBS Investment Bank; and Stanley Chang, M.D., chairman, Department of Ophthalmology, Columbia University Medical Center, with Visionary Awards. Both recipients have impressive resumes. Bourkoff has been recognized as one of Fortune’s 40 under 40 in 2010. Dr. Chang has been consistently named as one of America’s best doctors; he is one of the minds behind developing and pioneering several revolutionary surgical approaches to treat retinal detachment.
