Louis Vuitton Unveils Its Austin Trophy Trunk for the 2026 United States Grand Prix

The next Louis Vuitton Trophy Trunk is headed to Texas: the House has created a bespoke design for the Formula 1 MSC Cruises United States Grand Prix 2026, which runs October 23 to 25 at Circuit of The Americas in Austin. Louis Vuitton, an Official Partner of Formula 1, built this one around Austin’s vibrant spirit and presented it ahead of the race weekend.

The trunk is dressed in Louis Vuitton’s emblematic Monogram canvas and accented with red and blue stripes. Colored Damier strips, a nod to the checkered finish line, come together to form a V in blue and red — a single letter that stands for both “Victory” and “Vuitton.” It joins the dedicated trunks the House is creating for every Grand Prix on the 2026 calendar, as Haute Living reported when Louis Vuitton expanded its Formula 1 partnership this season.

This season also brought a new House signature to the Formula 1 Louis Vuitton Trophy Trunks: the Victory patch. Inspired by traditional travel labels and engraved with the winner’s initials, the patch records the history of each Grand Prix and the drivers who shaped it. Louis Vuitton calls it a subtle yet powerful reminder that every victory contributes to a lasting legacy.

The House is taking over the track, too. In Austin, the Louis Vuitton signature appears in dynamic graphic form across the on-track signage, designed to capture a sense of velocity and heat while blending with the circuit’s distinctive style. It is the visual counterpart to the trunk: the same name, read at race speed.

Like every custom Louis Vuitton piece, the Austin trunk is made by hand at the House’s historic atelier in Asnières-sur-Seine, France. The workshop has deep roots in motoring. It is where the first automotive trunks were designed under Georges Vuitton, son of founder Louis Vuitton, in 1897, and where the House has kept close ties to car culture ever since.

Georges saw early how popular cars and travel would become. He created a durable canvas called “Vuittonite” to stand in for leather so trunks could withstand the elements, and that invention evolved into the Louis Vuitton canvas the House still uses today.

The Austin trunk extends a tradition the House sums up in four words: victory travels in Louis Vuitton. Since its first sports partnership, with the America’s Cup in 1983, Louis Vuitton has joined forces with the FIFA World Cup, the Davis Cup, Roland-Garros, the NBA, the Rugby World Cup, the Ballon d’Or, the Australian Open, Real Madrid and the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. It made the Trophy Trunk for the Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco from 2021 to 2024 before partnering with Formula 1 itself in 2025.

Austin’s trunk doesn’t try to reinvent the series, and it doesn’t need to. Monogram, a finish-line stripe and one letter doing double duty is about as clean as sports design gets, and the restraint is exactly what makes it read as Louis Vuitton from the grandstand.

The Formula 1 MSC Cruises United States Grand Prix 2026 runs October 23 to 25 at Circuit of The Americas in Austin, with the race on Sunday, October 25.
