Tony Romo Proposes to Sports Reporter Girlfriend Candice Crawford atop Reunion Tower

It was quite a birthday surprise for Candice Crawford Thursday night, who celebrated her 24th high atop Reunion Tower in Wolfgang Puck’s chic Five Sixty restaurant. Boyfriend and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo decided this slowly revolving eatery with the perfect view of the cityscape was the perfect backdrop to pop the big question, to which Crawford excitedly accepted.

Crawford, a former Miss Missouri who works as a sports anchor for local station CW33 (you’ll find her covering high school football games Friday night instead of having bottle service at Ghost Bar like other girls her age), was given a 4-carat diamond ring, set in a platinum, vintage-style setting with a split platinum shank and micro pave diamonds (see inset.) Sister of Chance Crawford of Gossip Girl fame, Candice was also recently named one of the “Top 10 Most Beautiful Women in Dallas” by D Magazine (see photo, below.)

Romo, whose return to the game after a collarbone injury early this season is thought to be unlikely, previously dated country music star Carrie Underwood and Jessica Simpson, who herself got engaged last month to ex-NFL pro Eric Johnson.
