Haute Event: Heart of SoMa

News | November 8, 2010

Hundreds gathered on Oct. 26 for drinks, music and to give back to the community during The Heart of SoMa, an event targeting homelessness.

Hamilton Family Center, the beneficiary of the Heart of SoMa, has been working to end homelessness in the San Francisco Bay Area for 25 years. It is currently the largest provider of shelter, eviction prevention assistance, rapid re-housing, youth programming, and support services for homeless families in San Francisco, and thanks to this event they now have $50,000 and counting to add to their funds.

The event kicked off with a speech from the passionate reverend Jesse Jackson, which covered ways in which the community can help homeless families, and continued with a blast from speakers of Emcee Mary Murphy from Fox’s “So You Think You Can Dance.” Guests also enjoyed complimentary cuisine and other items from local hospitality sponsors: Boulevard, Prospect, Epic Roasthouse, Waterbar, Town Hall, Fifth Floor, Chez Papa Resto, Thermidor, Bar Agricole, Mezzanine, Bloodhound and Les Concierges ,as well as exclusive wine sponsor Vezer Family Vineyard.
