Miami’s Style Saves Reaches a Major Milestone: Transforming Lives for Over 15 Years
For 15 years, Style Saves has been a beacon of hope for South Florida families, and its milestone 15th annual Back-To-School event, set for August 9th and 10th at the Miami Beach Convention Center, promises to continue this legacy with its vibrant “Sprinkle City” theme. The Miami-based nonprofit has impacted over 250,000 students by providing essential school supplies, uniforms, backpacks, and sneakers, easing the financial burden of back-to-school preparations. Beyond the department store-style shopping experience, the event fosters a joyful atmosphere with activities, food, and beverages, transforming a potentially stressful time into a celebration of community and empowerment. Supported by partners like the City of Miami Beach Police Department and various sponsors, Style Saves not only equips students for academic success but also uplifts them through year-round mentorship and enrichment programs, solidifying its mission to transform lives across the region.

Ahead, we sit down with the founders, Isabela Rangel Grutman and Rachael Russell Saiger, to congratulate them on their immense success while discussing what this major milestone means to them and where the future of Style Saves lies.
HAUTE LIVING: First of all, congratulations. Did you ever think Style Saves would grow this big and last this long?
RACHAEL RUSSELL SAIGER: I didn’t really have a plan when I started Style Saves, so I wasn’t necessarily looking into the future or thinking about where I wanted it to be because I was so young. Once I started the organization and saw the need, I knew that it was important to keep growing it and do what I could to see it succeed.
HL: What does this milestone mean to you?
RRS: This milestone represents over a decade of hard work, passion, and the most amazing community coming together for something bigger than ourselves. It’s not just about how long we’ve been doing it—it’s about the lives we’ve touched and the connections we’ve built.
ISABELA RANGEL GRUTMAN: It honestly means so much. Watching Style Saves grow into what it is today has been incredible. We started with this idea of helping kids feel confident and ready, and now it’s become this full-on movement. I’m so proud to be a part of it.

HL: What are you most excited about this year’s event?
RRS: I’m most excited to see the kids’ faces light up—it never gets old. Going back to school is a time of financial hardship for most mothers and families, so it’s always nice to see them receive the essentials because they are truly so grateful and appreciative. That’s one of the things that makes it all worth it. We’ve also added some really special experiences this year to make the day even more fun and memorable, and I can’t wait for everyone to see what we’ve put together.
IRG: I’m always most excited to see the kids’ reactions — their smiles say it all. It’s such a special feeling to watch them pick their outfits or try on their new shoes. And the energy from our volunteers and community is unmatched.

HL: What do you hope volunteers/attendees take away from this year’s event?
IRG: I hope they leave feeling like they really made a difference — because they do. It’s not just about giving supplies away, it’s about showing up for these families. I hope people feel more connected, more inspired, and reminded of how powerful a community can be.
RRS: I hope they leave feeling inspired and connected to the cause. Style Saves is a truly grassroots, community-led organization. Our success has come from a deep commitment to transparency, especially in our fundraising and giving efforts. Everyone who supports our mission has the chance to roll up their sleeves and work directly with the community, creating a real, tangible impact.

HL: What are your goals for the future of Style Saves?
RRS: We are always looking for ways to enhance our Back to School program by adding multiple items for the uniforms that we are already distributing, more food sponsors, more activations, etc. We’re also working on the expansion of our Mentorship Program, which offers a unique opportunity for high school juniors and seniors to develop essential skills for success through focused workshops and from industry experts.
The Style Saves Back-To-School event at the Miami Beach Convention Center seeks volunteers for setup on August 7-8 and event days on August 9-10, with parking available and further details at stylesaves.org or via info@stylesaves.org.
