Make-A-Wish® Southern Florida’s 2019 Garden Party At The Malnik Residence

Al and Nancy Malnik, Make-A-Wish® Southern Florida “Lifetime Benefactors,” played host to 200 guests at their private home in honor of their annual Garden Party in anticipation of the upcoming, 25th Annual InterContinental® Miami Make-A-Wish® Ball, taking place Saturday, November 2, 2019.

The Malnik’s, as well as co-hosts and Board Chairman Shareef Malnik; President and CEO of Make-A-Wish® Southern Florida, Norman Wedderburn; InterContinental® Miami General Manager and Gala Host Robert Hill revealed the highly-anticipated gala’s theme for this year’s event: Masterpiece. The group describes the ever-mysterious theme as being a loose inspiration from hit series, Game of Thrones, promising a night of incredible production, boasting fantastical “regions” of the cultural arts, including music, fashion, film, dance and art. It was also announced that Shareef’s wife, actress Gabrielle Anwar, will be returning for the 9th year as the ball’s charming and entertaining emcee. Guests can look forward to an evening of world-class entertainment, dining, drinking and of course, giving back—with an enviable curation of lust-worthy items that bring in an incredible amount of donation funds to the Foundation.

Last year’s event raised more than $2.25 million. The Southern Florida chapter recently achieved the 12,000th wish milestone—one that has only been achieved by five other chapters in the world.

Guest attendees and supporters of Make-A-Wish® Southern Florida enjoyed a picturesque afternoon at the Malnik’s breathtaking backyard in Delray Beach, with passed gourmet canapés, specialty cocktails, live music from Elton John cover band Anton Doran of Absolute Elton John and a heartwarming performance and speech from Make-A-Wish® Southern Florida Wish recipient, Palmer Vorkapich who sang “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me” by Elton John in a duet with the pianist.
