Global Empowerment Mission Gala Returns To Miami
The Miami-based Global Empowerment Mission was conceived by founder and director Michael Capponi. The uber-philanthropist had been involved helping the victims of crisis in Kosovo, and has over the years been involved with rescue missions and humanitarian endeavors to aid victims throughout the world during times of tragedy including 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, the devastating 2010 earthquake in Haiti and more. Most recently, GEM was heavily involved in working with victims Puerto Rico and the Caribbean in the aftermath of Hurricanes Irma and Maria, spearheading the #ThisIsACrisis movement with Bethenny Frankel. Most recently they assisted the people of the Guatemala volcano eruption as well as Hurricane Florence shelter victims.

The upcoming gala on October 6th will serve as a celebratory evening honoring individuals who have been particularly influential and supportive in GEM’s mission that have made huge strides and a positive impact on the global community. The gala will showcase the work of SkinnyGirl Founder Bethenny Frankel, actor Carlos Ponce, singer Jencarlos Canela and Miami Dolphins player, Kiko Alonso, along with a group of smart partnerships who have committed their all to fulfill the organization’s global mission.
The event will take place at Island Gardens (888 MacArthur Way), and will include a cocktail hour upon arrival, an impressive selection silent and live auction items, live entertainment and music from DJ Apache and food stations from Miami’s hottest restaurants and chefs within the sprawling main lawn of the estate.
