Storied chef Bradley Kilgore‘s Kilgore Culinary has announced its newest venture, Kaido—an intimate cocktail lounge located in the illustrious Miami Design District. In November 2018, the new destination will debut in the brand-new Paradise Plaza located within the posh district where guests can enjoy Asian and Japanese-inspired libations and bites.
The cozy Tokyo-style den will feature creative cocktails from in-house mixologist Nico de Soto along with Asian dishes from Kilgore. Kilgore is most revered within the dining scene of Miami for his innovative eatery, Alter, located nearby in Wynwood—which received a nod from the prestigious Michelin Guide as being “on the road to Michelin” and has played host to a number of Michelin-starred chefs such as three-Michelin-starred chef Erik Enderson of Coi last month. Kaido serves as Kilgore’s first foray into the swanky neighborhood, followed by his anticipated dining concept Ember set to open a few months later in 2019.

The sleek decor of the lounge serves as the perfect setting for a date night or night-cap hot spot as it boasts a custom-made Butterfly Knife chandelier, DJ-ready sound system, oversized banquettes, plush ottomans or comfortable sofas. Guests can also sit at the bar to take part in the captivating precision of mixology behind the bar as Nico de Soto elevates the artistry of cocktail making before guests’ eyes.
In addition to creative mixology, Kaido will offer small plates, crudos and robatayaki paying homage to the spot’s Asian and Japanese influence including Uni Fondue or the Wagyu Katsu sandwich to perfectly complement the cocktails.
“I wanted to create a beautiful, modern and exciting cocktail bar inspired by my travels and my passion for the rich flavors and history of Japan and Asia,” said Kilgore. “Whether arriving in the early evening or coming in for a night-cap, guests can indulge in a savory cocktail program that will bring new energy and excitement to Miami’s Design District.”
