Rachael Russell‘s non-profit foundation Style Saves will host its 8th Annual Back-to-School Event this weekend on Saturday, August 18th and Sunday, August 19th. The anticipated event has been responsible for supplying school supplies for over 5,000 students over the past few years, each year becoming bigger and better than the year prior.
The event will take place at Wynwood’s Mana Studios, housing brand-new uniforms and school supplies for underprivileged students all over South Florida for the upcoming year. The event serves to supply the tools to succeed to children whose families would not otherwise be able to afford it.
The fun weekend-long event will feature activities for the students including shopping, complimentary beauty services, arts & crafts, carnival games, fitness classes, dance performances by Zhantra and more.
Students from over 60 schools and organizations including Miami-Dade Public Schools, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Voices for Children, His House, Communities In Schools, Irie Foundation, Mentor Network, Lotus House, The Guatemala-Mayan Center, and many more will be in attendance of the annual Back-To-School bash.
Longtime supporters of the cause, husband and wife Isabela Rangel-Grutman and David Grutman, along with Dave’s Groot Hospitality team will be helping Russell spearhead the event and assist with providing entertainment for the students. Additionally, on Saturday, August 18th, Miami-Dade Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho will be volunteering with Style Saves and wishing children and their families luck in the new school year.
