Arguably one of San Francisco’s most fashionable imports, Pia Cohler, a Norway native, is the cool girl next door we’re dying to be friends with. Cohler is the owner of Pia the Store, a designer boutique that stocks luxe looks from Proenza Schouler, Paco Rabanne, Prabal Gurung, Moschino, and more.

Cohler decided to open her namesake shop in Jackson Square “because it’s the cutest, most walkable part of town!” It reminds her of the West Village in New York City. “I love to window shop the galleries that are still around. Also, there are so many delicious lunch and dinner spots.” A few of her favs? Kokkari and Leo’s Oyster Bar. “At Kokkari I’ll usually have their fish of the day, grilled with some freshly squeezed lemon. Simple is best. At Leo’s, I’ll have whatever oysters and wine the waiter recommends. They are usually really knowledgeable and know how to pair well.”

Cohler, who is inspired by the Olsen twins, has only one style rule she follows: “Comfort is key. No one has ever looked elegant if they feel uncomfortable.” Cohler recommends that every San Franciscan invest in “a 3/4-length light coat to brave shifting weather conditions in a neutral color, a favorite pair of white sneakers, and a go-to hold-all tote.”

The blonde beauty enjoys splurging on shoes and skincare. For spring Cohler is loving “pastel colors and light textures, mixed with some comfy knit sweaters for those of us who are staying in the Bay Area!”
