This summer, the Seaport District is welcoming back a favorite haute spot. Ocean Prime is reopening their much anticipated al fresco dining experience  in a couple of weeks (once the rain ever stops).

Whether you come for drinks on the patio or dinner near the ocean, when you arrive, get started with one of their flavor filled cocktails – may we suggest our favorites, Rum Punch or Whiskey Clover?

One of their signature drinks is the Berries & Bubbles, a sweet and sour combination of Belvedere Citrus Vodka, marinated berries, house made sour, Domaine Chandon Brut topped off with dry ice smoke, an unforgettable presentation that is sure to turn heads when it is served.

We recommend getting started with an order of Sonoma goat cheese ravioli with golden oak mushrooms, a delicious melt-in-your-mouth sampling of pillowy soft ravioli. They have a decent selection of sushi offerings, including a lobster roll, tuna roll, and a dynamite tempura shrimp roll with spicy mayo. Move onto the wedge salad with iceberg lettuce, red onion, smoked bacon, grape tomatoes and crumbled blue cheese topped with a tasty cabernet buttermilk dressing.

What makes Ocean Prime so unique is the restaurant offers not only some of the best cuts of beef, but also some incredible seafood offerings. We recommend the bone-in Kansas City strip cooked to our medium rare liking accompanied by a peppery au poivre sauce. Other prime steaks featured here include a bone-in filet, ribeye and New York strip. When it comes to seafood, the lemon swordfish with crispy garlic potatoes and shallot caper reduction is a standout. Pair it up with a side of jalapeno au gratin potatoes, a perfect combination of spice and cheese; roasted Brussels sprouts and truffle mac and cheese for a dinner to remember.

Be sure to save room for the 10-layer carrot cake. It’s large enough to share between two guests, but so good you may not want to. Picture layer upon layer of fluffy carrot cake complemented with the addition of crushed pineapples and dried coconut with alternating layers of cream cheese frosting served with pineapple syrup and fresh whipped cream.

The warm butter cake is another favorite topped with vanilla ice cream served with fresh berries and raspberry sauce.
