First Fast-Color Bar Comes to Manhattan

The new Madison Reed Color Bar in the Flatiron District.

Hair styling pros have mastered the art of the quick blow dry, but hair coloring has long remained a time-drain process. Until now. The first express, root touch-up bar recently opened in Manhattan–the Madison Reed Color Bar at 7 West 19th Street, between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. The team at Madison Reed says their new space is hyper-focused on speeding up the coloring process for covering roots and regrowth–a service they can deliver in 45 minutes (and for a great price, $45).

The new salon, in the Flatiron District, is open from 8 AM-8 PM making color fixes now a pre-work option. Prior to the color application, clients are first asked to answer a brief questionnaire, which helps one of the Color Crew pros help you determine the most suitable color. The root touch-up color is then applied, with add-on treatments and processes like color glosses and blow outs also available.

Madison Reed, which TechCrunch called the Warby Parker of hair color (the brand launched an e-commerce site for home coloring), says its proprietary formulas are developed in Italy, and are free of the chemicals like ammonia, resorcinol, PPD, and gluten typically found in color treatments. Instead the formulas contain ingredients like argan oil, keratin and ginseng root extract. For appointments go to madison-reed.com/colorbar or call 646-682-9432.
