All eyes were onĀ Haute Livingās stunning cover star,Ā Georgina Chapman, as she made her entrance toĀ Cipriani DowntownāsĀ posh lounge, Socialista. The beautiful, always gracious fashion designer was joined by her closest family, including husband movie producerĀ Harvey WeinsteinĀ and children India and Dashiell, and friends to honorĀ her special evening. Perrier-JouĆ«t and JetSmarter joined in toĀ celebrate with her as well.
Other attendees included philanthropistĀ Jean Shafiroff,Ā Alexandra Lebenthal, president and CEO of Lebenthal and Co.; star interior designerĀ Jamie Drake; Cinema Society FounderĀ Andrew SaffirĀ andĀ Daniel Benedict; famed dermatologistĀ Dr. Patricia WexlerĀ and many others includingĀ Haute LivingĀ CEOĀ Kamal Hotchandani,Ā Haute Living New YorkĀ Editor-in-ChiefĀ Catherine Sabino,Ā Italian AmbassadorĀ Paolo ZampolliĀ and Pernod Ricard DirectorĀ Jason Kim.
Chapman glamorously graced the cover ofĀ Haute LivingĀ New YorkāsĀ August-September issue, where she gave readers the inside scoop on how she and co-founder Keren Craig built the Marchesa fashion label (famous for its one-of-a-kind red carpet gowns), and her high profile social life in New York and on the international awards circuit with Weinstein. About the rapidly growing fashion label, Chapman said, “Itās high energy. A lot of creativity. Since we produce Marchesa right here you see everything coming togetherāfrom the sketch to the finished gown.”Ā While tech collaborations intrigue, Chapman and her team are talking bricks and mortar, too, a future maison for all things Marchesa. But whatever the future holds, Chapman says sheāll be happy for things ājust to continue as they are now. I love every day I come into the office. Iām incredibly lucky to do this, to work with my best friend Keren and my brother. Iām proud of what weāve all built.”
When asked if sheād like to design a first female presidentās inaugural gown (she and her husband hosted a dinner for Hillary Clinton this summer), Chapman responds, āI would obviously love to dress Hillary. I deeply respect her, however, a candidateās style is not whatās most important to me. Hillary is an incredible politician, she has a brilliant mind, is warm and compassionate, and has all the integrity that I am looking for in a candidate running to be the President of the United States. That to me is what matters most.ā
Guests enjoyed sips of Perrier-JouĆ«t Belle Epoque champagne that paired delectably with some of Cipriani’s famous Italian specialty bites Ā as they mingled throughout the night. Georgina and Harvey spent time with their children before they left for bedtime while Queen of Wall StreetĀ Alexandra Lebenthal talked Bellport and Hamptons summer with Doctor Patricia Wexler andĀ Jamie Drake told tales from hisĀ whirlwind summer traveling to Europe and the Far East for new design projects (he formed a new partnership Drake-Anderson with interior designer Caleb Anderson).
At the end of the evening, artist Bradley TheodoreĀ presented Chapman with a special gift of a gorgeous custom painting, while attendees snapped pics of the English beauty.
