The LABB To Pop-Up Poolside at W Hotel for Swim Week
Miami’s newest boutique injectibles practice, The LABB, opened less than two months ago in Miami Beach’s trendy Sunset Harbour neighborhood. Run by Joey New York founder Joey Chancis and her partner, Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner Danielle Smith, the two have already come up with a rather creative bid to get gals to think about fillers in a new way—going poolside.
So the two will be joining the nail queens from Vanity Projects and beauty mavens from GEE Beauty during Swim Week at W South Beach’s Bikini Beer Garden (formerly called the Style Suite) on Saturday, July 16th giving pro contouring make up to illustrate how important light and facial planes really are.
“What we do with fillers contouring of the cheeks and eyes. So it’s contour that won’t wash off,” says Smith. “The whole idea when you are applying contour make-up is that you are emphasizing natural highlights and lowlights. The whole objective is trying to mimick natural light. We do that with fillers too, so contour make-up is a great way to talk about what filler can do for you.” Smith also recommends augmenting the cheeks slightly not just for older women who are experiencing volume loss, but also for the younger set who “don’t want to have to put on make-up for hours to achieve the look.”
Smith says practicing the popular make-up technique has “It totally changed my technique for how I inject lips. I’ll do a lowlight under the lip just to make it a little more protrusion. And I’ll do a highlight here.”
Of course, the lounge is for Swim Week industry and VIPs, so if you want a taste of the LABB’s aesthetic or GEE Beauty you might have to make a trip to Sunset Harbor, but let’s face it, you were there anyways.
