Haute 100 Miami Update: Chef Michael Schwartz Announces 6th Art of Taste Benefit Dinner
Slow Food Miami, a completely volunteer-run non-profit seeking to improved the futures of children, announces its 6th annual Ark of Taste Benefit Dinner Celebrating Local Legacy with Chef Michael Schwartz that will be held Tuesday, January 27th at Paraiso Bay in Miami’s Edgewater neighborhood. All five previous years featured plated dinners but this year the event is doing something different: the event will feature chefs from all restaurants associated with Genuine Hospitality Groups that will set up shop at Schwartz’s future waterfront eatery on Biscayne Bay.
The centerpiece of the meal will include the Ark-nominated Florida stone crab, sourced from Miami’s George Stone Crab. The crab will be accompanied by locally-sourced ingredients including items from Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink chef de cuisine Niven Patel’s backyard and other farms served by Farm to Kitchen, a local produce distributor.
The event starts at 6:30 giving guests time to take in views as they loosen up with cocktails: Greg Goose drinks, sustainable Stellar Wines, hors d’oeuvres prepared by Chef Molly Brandt of Restaurant Michael Schwartz at The Raleigh.
The chefs on deck for the event are as follows: Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink/Chef de Cuisine Niven Patel, The Cypress Room/Chef de Cuisine Roel Alcudia and Harry’s Pizzeria/Chef de Cuisine Daniel Ramirez. Schwartz will join The Genuine Hospitality Group’s Executive Chef Bradley Herron to preview some food inspired by Paraiso Bay and its restaurant, slated to open in early 2016. Executive Pastry Chef Hedy Goldsmith will offer passed desserts for a sweet cap on a delicious evening to remember.
The theme of the night is locally-sourced food and of course the mouth-watering flavors that can be yielded from these ingredients.
“Being chosen to host Ark of Taste each year is a special honor, but I think this one is going to be truly special and memorable having everyone together,” said Schwartz.
