Haute Scene : UCLA’s Environmental Excellence Gala
Al Gore’s commitment to the environment hasn’t gone unnoticed: the UCLA Institute of the Environment and Sustainability feted the former Vice President at their second annual gala. Gore and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Lyn Lear were honored at a ceremony held at the Beverly Hills home of Jeanne and Anthony N. Pritzker on March 5th. More than 350 guests attended the event, which was studded with stars like Barbara Streisand, Warren Beatty, Courteney Cox, Sumner Redstone, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Larry King and JJ Abrams as well as Alan and Cindy Horn. Actress Amy Smart and husband Carter Oosterhouse of Million Dollar Rooms emceed the event, which raised more than $1 million for IoES. Sarah Silverman and musician Jason Mraz provided the evening’s entertainment.
