Seeking innovative bite-sized fare in a stunning setting? José Andrés is the place for you. His whimsical menu features foie gras lollipops wrapped in cotton candy, jicama wrapped guacamolé and caviar cones are some of the best tapas you’ll be likely to have anywhere.
Fig & Olive
After sampling the Mediterranean-inspired tapas at chef Pascal Lorange’s West Hollywood eatery, you might just feel like you’re on a Roman holiday. There are nine types of crostini (our favorite has manchego, fig and Marcona almonds), as well delightful truffle mushroom croquettes as well as a variety of mixed cheeses and olives. Mamma mia!
Manhattan Beach Post
How much do we love the ‘tapas’ at David LeFevre’s Manhattan Beach hot spot, the M.B. post? Let us count the ways. We love it for the fleur salt pretzel with horseradish mustard, for the roasted Brussels sprouts with sage and hazelnuts, for the pomegranate couscous with lavendar feta, and for the seared diver scallops with bacon butter. Oh heck, who are we kidding? We just love everything on the menu.
K’Ya Bistro Bar
For the best small plates in the O.C., K’Ya Bistro Bar is your best bet. The menu is wide and varied, full of delicacies like the delectable truffle parmesan fries with pesto aioli to bacon wrapped dates and wild Hawaiian ahi poke.
